After graduating from AHS I attended Texas Tech where I initially majored in architecture. After 2 years I changed my major to Biology and transferred to UTEP. After graduation from UTEP I attended Texas A&M where I majored in Veterinary Medicine. After Texas A&M I went to the University of Florida in a post doctoral training program in Laboratory Animal Medicine. While at UF I also earned a PhD in Immunology. After completing my programs at UF I took a job at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. After NIEHS I worked at Oral Roberts University, then the University of Houston, then Baylor College of Medicine, and finally the Medical College of Wisconsin.
I retired from the Medical College in December 2006 and formed my own consulting company. For several years I spent at least half my time consulting. Now I only do an occasional consulting job.
When we moved from Houston to Wisconsin my son, daughter-in-law, and then one grandson followed us to Wisconsin and lived with us for 3 1/2 years. They then had another son and bought their own house. My wife and I are still very involved in our grandson's lives. We care for our grandsons 4 days a week.
Over the years we have been fortunate enough to travel fairly extensively. We have traveled all over the US and to a number of countries around the world.
